Summer wedding at Kings Lynn Town Hall.
A couple of weeks ago we were chosen by the wonderful M & E to cater their wedding at the Town Hall. When we arrived on Friday to set up it was all systems go from friends and family of the bride and groom to transform the rooms. Bridesmaids were making flower arrangements, groomsmen were tying bows round chairs, everyone was helping make their vision come to life.
We set the tables with our classic white folded napkins and cutlery. We then had our usual catch up with the couple to make sure we are all on the same page for the following day.
On the day, M & E married across the road at St Margarets church on the Saturday Market Place. An iconic building in our town. The guests then came over to the equally iconic Town Hall for drinks and canapés. For this event the canapés chosen were our always popular tomato and basil crostinis, beautiful Cromer crab crostinis and satay chicken skewers. They also chose our mini sausages but with my homemade BBQ sauce rather than the usual honey mustard due to an allergy. As always these were all extremely popular and we struggled to get through the doors to the far end of the room before they were all swept away!
For the wedding breakfast the bride and groom had chosen an option of two starters which were pork belly or Bloody Mary prawn cocktail. These are two of our most popular starters and always go down really well with the wedding guests. The first main course chosen was our wedding favourite, chicken in a creamy white wine sauce. Alongside this was our seabass dish with a lovely dill pesto. Vegetarians were served a pea and mint risotto.
Dessert was wedding cake which was cut and prepared by Tracy and taken out on sharing plates to each table. I didn’t catch the name of the cake supplier but it was great! It was iced to look like stacks of cheese, along side another cake which actually was stacks of cheese!
This was a lovely wedding with lots of personal touches. The favours, gorgeous hand painted glass candle holders made by a family member, flowers lovingly arranged and laid out by family members and a big team effort to get everything just right.
We wish M & E all the best in their new adventure as Mr and Mrs
