Happy Hen Do!
Last weekend took us over to Swaffham for a hen do in a lovely huge old house.
We were hired by a wonderful group of fifteen hens to serve a three course meal on Saturday evening. We supplied all cutlery, crockery and napkins, although when we got there, the girls had already laid the table themselves with napkins, printed menus and favours. I finished off by laying our cutlery and wine glasses. The house was so well equipped that we also used the crockery from the kitchen and returned it after use.
The girls chose between two starters, two mains and two desserts. The starter choices were our gorgeous garlic and chilli prawns or a lovely fresh tomato and mozzarella salad. These were followed up by the mains which were our classic chicken in a creamy white wine sauce dish or the equally lovely wild mushroom risotto. Desserts of choice were of course our ever popular Eton mess or chocolate brownie with Chantilly cream.
We arrived in time to prepare and cook on site and were ready for the girls to take their seats at 7pm. The meal was served in a relaxed manor in and around the hens having games and tasks to do. Once the meal was finished we tidied away, wiped, swept and left everything exactly how we found it.
It seemed that everybody had a great time and the empty plates at every course and round of applause as we left can only mean we did a good job!
We wish the Bride-to-be all the luck and happiness for her wedding day.
