B & G at The Red Barn, South Runcton
We were lucky enough to be back at The Red Barn this weekend to be a part of B & G’s big day.
Prep day involved delivering Little Bubbles and helping the couple set their tables with beautiful gold cutlery and gold charger plates that they ordered from nearby Banqueting Hire. These pieces made a beautiful difference to the tables alongside their favours and centre pieces. Each person had a menu printed at their seat to remind them what they had ordered to eat. A huge help for the guests and for us! Every detail of their table decor had been truly and perfectly thought about.
So, the big day. We welcomed B & G’s lovely guests with Prosecco on tap from Little Bubbles and bottled beer in The Red Barn beer barrel. During this time, B & G had a surprise butterfly release to remember loved ones who couldn’t be with them on their day. What a lovely touch.
On to their food. B & G opted for a choice of Ham Hock terrine or Butternut squash and red pepper soup to start. This was followed by our very popular chicken with sage and onion mash and creamy white wine sauce. The vegetarian option was vegetable wellington with seasonal veg and new potatoes. For dessert, the choices were Eton mess and Salted caramel cheesecake. Ive never seen such clean plates returning to the kitchen, they must have licked them! Every plate of every course seemed to really go down a treat! That’s what we love to see!
Every part of their day had been thought through. During their time between food and speeches guests were entertained by a magician which everyone seemed to enjoy, while we did a tea and coffee station. Throughout the evening he carried on entertaining as well as a magic mirror photo booth and disco by Jak Ropa.
Tracy was given the huge task of cutting six different wedding cake flavours, yes six!
We ran a pay bar for the rest of the evening and at 9 o’clock we started on pizzas for their evening food choice. Pizzas always go down a treat. It can be a struggle to keep up with demand but we always get there! And we never have left overs!
It seemed that B & G and all their guests had a wonderful day and we were really pleased to have been chosen to be a part of it.
Wishing them both all the best for their future as Mr and Mrs.
