Weddings, festival catering and a new arrival.
Hello!
As the wedding season comes to a close for yet another wonderful year, I thought I’d pop up to say hi. I haven’t written so many individual blogs this season as things have been a little hectic! From private dining to our usual diary full of weddings, catering breakfast dinner and tea every day for over two weeks for a festival crew to cocktail masterclasses. You guys have kept us busy as usual!
We have also restocked most of the equipment we had stolen at the tail end of last year so are now back up and running for tableware hire.
At home things have been busy too. At the end of July, the very next morning after our festival job, as if knowing he needed to stay put while mummy and daddy finished a very busy two weeks, we welcomed baby Max into the family. Alongside his big sister Indy, completing team Rudd. We took a little time out to settle down as a family of four, but very quickly it was business as usual. Being born in the middle of the summer season didn’t give daddy much time to have a rest!
Summer has been full of lots of lovely weddings, notably this weekend, P & T at Kings Lynn Town Hall. Ryan and Tracy joined the family to set up on Friday, coming home with some very tasty Welsh cakes, left over from setting the tables, kindly given to us by the bride and groom to be. Tracy worked her magic with some beautiful decor, adding to centre pieces and arrangements by our friends at Floral Sistas. All tableware, linen and glassware was supplied by us.
After their marriage over the road at the Minster, P & T and their nearest and dearest crossed over to enjoy some drinks and canapés in the Town Hall courtyard. They then came upstairs to have a long, relaxed three course meal, broken up by speeches from lots of members of the wedding party.
P & T opted for a starter of sourdough bread with olive oil and olives for each table to share. For their main they chose seabass on a bed of creamy mash, a delicious dill pesto and a sprinkling of crispy seaweed. For vegetarians they chose a vegetable moussaka with a side of Jerusalem salad. The meal was finished off with a choice of Tracy’s famous chocolate brownie or a local cheese platter. Everyone seemed very pleased and as usual we had lots of “complements to the chef”.
We then left the new Mr and Mrs to party the evening away with all their loved ones while we worked through the pile of washing up in the kitchen!
We’d like to thank all of our brides, grooms and other customers for another summer of being able to do what we love. We still have lots more bookings to work through in 2025 including lots of fun over the festive period.
Once again, thank you all.
Lots of love Team Rudd x
